Dreams and Visions of Rabbi Chaim Vital, as Recorded by Himself: Excerpts from Sefer Hachezyonot
About
Rabbi Chaim Vital (1543-1620) was the foremost student of Rabbi Yitzchak Luria, the Ari, the pivotal master of Kabbalah, who lived in Tsefat in the sixteenth century. Under the Ari’s instructions, Rabbi Chaim Vital committed the Ari’s teachings to writing, and in his Sefer Hachzeyonot (Book of Visions), he recorded his experiences with the Ari, his dreams and visions, conversations he had with the Ari, descriptions of his spiritual anatomy, and more. The dreams and visions he recorded are powerful, striking and revealing as well as, ultimately, mysterious.
